I love our bags. The subtle natural colours of the tweed are so easy to wear and make for a classy look when you’re out and about. The softness of the tweed and linen make them lovely to feel and use too.
Our British queen bee proudly flies, stamped by our leather craftsman onto the leather tag and magnet fastener he adds for us as a finishing touch.
Not only are the Country Collection bags things of beauty, but they are a great size, fully lined in linen and with a spacious tweed pocket on the inside too, perfect for your phone, cards, keys etc...
This design reminds me of moonlight, with the natural cream hues sparkling through the darker greys of the Shetland sheep's wool. It’s a gentle design, that’s really easy to wear, going with practically anything!

PROVENANCE
The wool for this tweed has come from the sheep of the Shetland isles. The fleeces are sorted and the yarns spun in Scotland, and the tweeds designed and woven at Lovat’s mill in Hawick.
The tweeds we use for our luxury tote bags are 100% Shetland wool and all undyed, with the designs showing off the different neutral tones of the yarn.
The linen is woven in Northern Ireland by John England with the linen yarn, no longer grown in the UK, sourced from European ethically sourced, flax plant fibres.
The stitching is cotton rather than polyester as a more natural and sustainable choice than polyester. The collection has been been sewn for us by a small company based in Huddersfield
The fastening is British veg-tanned leather and a single magnet which has come from Eastern Europe, the nearest we can find as they aren't manufactured in the UK.
SUSTAINABILITY
We have avoided using synthetic linings, threads or zips so that as much of our Country Collection bags can go back to nature when their long lives are over, leaving as little mark or footprint behind for future generations to worry about.
Everything has been woven and made in the UK. The flax thread to weave the linen came from Northern Europe rather than further afield, to keep our carbon footprint down, support British heritage industries and tread as lightly on the planet as we can.
